Jim & Helen – Kingston Country Courtyard, Dorset

Last September, I had the pleasure of photographing Jim and Helen’s wedding deep in the Dorset countryside. Within a stones throw of where both Jim and Helen grew up and in sight of Corfe Castle it was a truly magical occasion in a stunning setting with good weather to boot!

Located just outside the village of Kingston nestled in the Purbeck hills lies Kingston Country Courtyard an old converted farmstead with plenty of character and charm. The main building was decorated beautifully with some of the best flower arranging I’ve seen! Jim and Helen’s creative expertise certainly showed through and the attention to detail was evident throughout. The small garden became the perfect place to enjoy the sunny weather and the live folk band really added to the atmosphere.

Helen’s dress was beautiful, actually both of them were… Along with 7 bridesmaids with their handmade dresses I was certainly kept busy although I particularly enjoyed the bridesmaids setting Helen up for a phone call to a local radio station’s ‘Bride of the day’ feature. The ceremony was beautiful and the speeches packed with action and laughter and the ‘Bake Off’ competition really added a community spirit to the day. The evening concluded with a surprise choreographed first dance which caught everyone out, including me!

It was an amazing day, and once I really enjoyed photographing, so a massive you to you both! P.S the homemade jam I was given was incredible!
